You put whacha in that hot toddy? Sriracha! Yes. Yes I did.
Oh and honey and lemon and ginger and whiskey and a little too much enthusiasm, if my husband has anything to say about it.
I know it seems weird! And at first I was like, "whoa, this is weird." But you know what. I'm kind of weird. And life is weird. And weather is weird. And hedge apples are weird. And my hair is weird. YET IT ALL WORKS. (Well, not my hair.)
It's like a Bloody Toddy! Or a Hot Mary. But without tomatoes. And no vodka. But with sriracha and whiskey and ginger and honey and OH RIGHT, I just went over that.
Give her a whirl! It's different! There's heat from the sriracha, of course, but with the smooth kick of whiskey and all the other healthy yummies, it'll knock your immune system into the next millennium. Not to mention your spirits. YEAAAAAH.
Okay, grab some whiskey, honey, ginger (ignore the strange . . . shape of mine), lemon and sriracha!
In a little bowl, whisk together the honey, a tablespoon. of lemon juice, and the sriracha sauce. And uh, I spy the photographer in the sauce. Oops.
Then dump the cup of whiskey into a small saucepan. Add 3 cups of water and a few chunks of ginger. Let it simmer on low for about 10 minutes.
Then add some lemon slices and the sriracha mixture. Let it simmer for another 10 minutes. The lemon will help cut some of the heat. Or wait, it adds a kick. Or wait, it mellows it out. Or wait, it brightens it up. Or wait, I'm just kidding.
Serve her up! I garnished ours with a little ginger slice for fun because it made me sing songs of jubilee. But it's up to you.
Bottoms up! Yeah, seriously, thaaaat would be sriracha sauce.
